The Springleap.com Retro theme competition was filled with some seriosuly jaw dropping old school designs.
However only one could walk away with the win. Kingslip blew away the voters with this simple yet, oh so cool design, entitled I mean like WOAH.

1. What were you thinking when you first started the design?

“Man, it’s about time I win a competition on Springleap”.

2. Are you personally a big fan of retro culture?

Yeah, especially vintage printing techniques. These days anyone with a desktop can print on whatever surface they like, but only those ancient monsters can get those great textures and effects.

3. How long did it take you to complete your piece?

All my life, plus 30 minutes.

4. Who do you feel was your biggest threat in this theme competition?

Conspiracy theorists, they are the worst.

5. Do you think this design reflects your state of mind from when it was created?

Not really, I was quite hungry at the time.

6. Is this your normal style or an experiment?

I never really developed a style, its all experiments.

7. Do you feel this design will hit it big with South African retailers?

Let’s hope, they can be an unpredictable bunch.

8. If you could change anything in this design what would it be?

More puppies!!!

9. What kind of person do you see wearing this design?

If Jacob Zuma wears it I would be pretty stoked.

10. If you could pick any Springleap.com artist to recreate this piece for you who would it be?

I would hand it to Tokyogogo, that guy is good, I can’t stand him.
