We want a branded tee that everyone can be proud to wear. This competition requires your design to represent what you interpret the Springleap brand to be all about.
A shiny new Springleap website will be launched towards the end of the year so this is your chance to get involved on a whole new level. We may even like your tee design so much that we decide to use it as a theme for the entire site!

Re-brand Springleap by giving us your perception of the Springleap brand!

Besides the regular terms and conditions there is only one other thing you need to keep in mind…
Your creation MUST include the word Springleap – and here’s the best part – your design can feature the word in any FONT, any COLOUR and any FORM u like! Re-create us with your brilliance.

Springleap is excited to announce the launch of a new partnership in conjunction with African Cream Records !

Springleap African Cream will be targeted specifically at curio/tourist stores across South Africa. To celebrate we are holding a very special competition to find one OR MORE designs that will enter the collection.

Yup, you could see your design in stores across South Africa and worn by tourists from all over the world.

What makes South Africa special? Uniting us in our hearts and minds?

Is it the geography, the seas, the mountains, the cities? Or is it the culture, the history… the PEOPLE ?

This competition is a tribute to the HEROES that fought to overcome adversity and contributed to South Africa being the amazing country it is today. People like Nelson Mandela, Steve Biko, Chris Hani, Miriam Makeba, Lucky Dube, Brenda Fassie to name a few; people whose passion for this great nation transformed it.

Nelson Mandela once said “If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart.”

Open up your heart and challenge yourself to take inspiration from these trailblazers to design a t-shirt that presents their faces in a new light and allows their legend to live on. Share your vision. Use your creative talents to help us see their faces through your hearts and eyes.

Some basic rules:

No photos or edited photos.

Only self-created designs will be considered.

We are looking for designs done from scratch with great design flair; designs that aren’t the standard fare of a printed face pasted on a shirt.

Originality, creativity and ingenuity are the name of the day, but remember, you should still be able to clearly recognize the person depicted.

Parodies, caricatures, collages, sketches are all fair game.

Voting starts: 25 February 2010

WOW -this is definitely one of THE most exciting competitions we have EVER run on Springleap!

I can’t wait to see the amazing entries that could come from this—- thinking of all the awesome t-shirts and interpretations I have seen of Obama – this could be groundbreaking for this sort of art in South Africa – an incentive to take the standard face on a garment to a WHOLE new level.

Listening to the news this morning and I heard that SA Hip-hop star Molemo Maarohanye, also known as Jub Jub, and another motorist are due to appear in the Protea Magistrate’s Court today, after four high school pupils were killed in Soweto. Apparently the 2 morons were drag racing through Soweto under the influence of both alcohol and drugs. I can’t help but think of the innocent kids who were just walking home when these guys were out and about behaving like idiots. And now they are dead. So terribly sad. I honestly hope that Jub Jub and his sidekick feel the consequences of this enormous crime- prison! Justice needs to be served people.Read this article for more info

It seems to be a trend in this country to place no value whatsoever on human life. Where does it end? What is it going to take to make people see that actions have consequences- and that you can’t simply do whatever you want without considering the effects of you behaviour on the lives of other people?

I hope the two of them rot in jail until they die a sad, lonely, miserable death. Do we need to learn by example? If that’s what it takes then fine. Aside from that, they will have to live out the rest of their days with the fact that they ended innocent lives. this will be on the consciences (if they have one!) forever. The same goes for the trucker that killed those 4 cyclists in Klein Karoo. Read here

Anyway- so now that I am sufficiently depressed, we can change the subject!
