The images need to be a lil bit higher on the chest.

The Brigand is very right in what he says about the descriptions. In a way, They’re the next best way to get someone to buy your T. They pick it up in the store, have a look at the design and read the card. the card maybe the catch point or the T design is enough to settle our mind for you.

Kinda makes me wish I had given better descriptions in the past….

I think this calls for a big thank you to petal16. This has really opened my mind to how much effort should really be put into a T, from design to description EVERYTHING counts.

I don’t think the description says one iota of anything about the design. And I don’t think you need to be verbose to get your point across.

As for the pretty statement, I was merely providing the juxtaposition of the above diarrhetic example of verbosity. We can all use really big words if we have to, but what is the point when all they do, most of the time, is make what we are trying to say less intelligible.

I totally disagree SilverSabre… the effort Petal16 made was fantastic – remember that the story of the design goes on the postcard with your profile with every shirt – so if I saw a comment like “because it looks pretty” I would frankly snort at that kind of a story – it just shows no effort or understanding of oneself or care for final product.

Sorry if that’s a bit harsh, but having worked in this field for a while now I can tell you that is the reaction one gets.

Taking the time to write something that expresses how you felt when designing is wonderful to read.

Really great work petal16 – this is a very strong first t-shirt submission at springleap.

And a great story it’s fantastic when people make such a great effort all around – the overall presentation is so important.

Good placement, great colours, and detail – Brain, heart and eye – hmmm.. very cool.

why can’t they just say ‘I drawed it cos it was Pretty’.

Would make a hell of a better description than that load o bollocks. You don’t need words ending in ‘ity’ to make you sound smart, and if your art really needs that big an explanation before someone gets it then you have failed as an artist in my opinion.

That being said, I like your design. I would have left out the floral borders tho. Also as much as this is great art, it does not necessarily make a great tee shirt.

Personally I like the placing, only wish there could be something on the back of the shirt…

Great character design. They really are cute. The placing of the design at the bottom of the shirt doesn’t do it justice, and the choice of t-shirt colour tends to make the graphic get lost. Stronger lines on the characters maybe. Otherwise, nicely done!

Im kinda new with this,its only my second design.. i will keep all the factors in mind next time.

Is it just me or is the teeshirt and the large image two seperate versions of the design?

That aside, King I think that would be a good argument for the use of the mock up images Integral uses to show what a tee would look like printed….

I have always wondered about ladies T shirt design. Do you take the “boob factor” into account. Should the focus not be slightly higher.

If my calculations are correct, then this design will start about 5cm too low, or was that planned?

Wow this is nice, the gap between the black seems to suggest the beginning of another world… You know, this design grow on you, and although I wouldnt wear it myself, seeing it about would be great.

I think one more point is that compositionally speaking, there is so much drawing the eye to and from that coupled with so many colours that the eye becomes confused.

In terms of this – good colour usage would work with other compositional elements to draw the eye to a focal point from whence the design either stems or flows towards.

SO having powerful colours like red on the left and the right of the design tears the eye from place to place.

Think of how and why a rainbow is so lovely to look at – a nice curve with colours softly leading out – imagine if the first and last colours were repeated at either end of the curve….

Ouch – too many colours clashing and a strain on the eyes. Bad choice of t-shirt colour – Should have gone with white for sure.

One should always be aware that the background colour (especially powerful colours like green that are made up of many of the other colours in this design) intensify other colours on the page and visually the eye mixes those colours with the green itself – that is why it is so difficult to lookm at this design.

it’s nice. it doesn’t get me jumping, but i do like the bright colours. not sure that green is the best background colour though. but the main image is really cool

I like the expression in this. its raw, just like emotions. The colours are too primary though, too saturated.

I do like it, but its a bit loud maybe? still nice to see something so expressive however..

whats with the little graves in the back? It kinda kills the happy vibe your colors create
