We’re excited!! Louise Carver has teamed up with springleap to find a t-shirt that will become part of her official merchandise that will go with her on her tour.

Louise is looking for a t-shirt that is themed around her song “Home”, off her latest album Saved by the Moon Light.

INSPIRATION FOR THE DESIGN?

You can use your imagination and have fun with the design but keep in mind…

1. The design should be themed around Louise’s “Home” single and have some reference to her.

2. Include an avatar of Louise

3. Use her font which is Edwardian Script ITC.

THE INSPIRATION BEHIND HOME

Louise has coined the phrase “organic rock” to describe the heartbeat of this timeless album.

I decided to create my “Home” tour whilst sitting on a cramped, smelly tube in London a couple weeks ago. Mentally, to save myself from getting claustrophobic, I started counting all the things that make South Africa such an amazing home.

One of the things on the list was our eclectic, powerful music, which carries such a strong sense of who we are as South Africans. ‘Home’ was born on a London tube, whilst dreaming of South Africa – it will bring together my best loved tunes, with those songs that helped shape my dream to be a musician.

‘Home’ celebrates all that makes the South African spirit so strong and hungry for adventure.

WHAT IS UP FOR GRABS FOR THE WINNING TSHIRT?

3 springleap t-shirts, Saved by the Moonlight CD’s, tickets for Louise’s next concert in Cape Town or Jo’burg, royalties for Louise’s T-shirts sold on the springleap website (R2 per Tshirt sold)...

TIMELINES

1. Use the template pack from the main competition, and start designing
2. You can start entering your designs in the Louise Carver Comp on the 8th of September
3. Voting starts on the 18th September and ends on the 30th of September
4. WINNERS announced on the 1st October

We all have to do at least one shirt for the environment!

After voting on Springleap every month for about 3 months I decided I should give it a shot.

Photographer by trade I have been raiding my portfolio and playing around.

This is one of my favourite images … it is called Solitude … and was taken in the Drakensburg a couple of years ago.

I simplified the image, delete the foreground, did a bit of fixing here and there and WA-LA!

I creating this shirt because it came together in layers! I like to see how things slowly progress into the final image. Ahhh The wonder of Art!
