Words by the designer:

This design is a tribute to Steve Biko. He was the man who was known to have made these two famous statements, “Black is beautiful” and “The most potent weapon in the hands of the oppressor, is the mind of the oppressed”. I thought these to be very wise words and so I incorporated them into a design. Statements like this were made so that Black people of the time could be proud of who they are. I hope this design gets that concept across. Oh and you may notice the not so subtle shape of Africa with South Africa forming his beard.
