Title:
I am an African

You probably thought “I am an African” came from an advert with that bloke playing the piano on Table Mountain, trying to get tourists over to South Africa and spend their pounds … It actually started life as a speech given to the South African parliament. On 8 May 1996, then deputy president Thabo Mbeki gave a great speech that tells of his belief in all of the people from Africa.
Apparently everyone in the world originally came from Africa – so now anyone (even ex-presidents from Texas) can wear a natty t-shirt that proudly claims “I am an African”
The speech itself was actually quite long (I’m not sure if anyone fell asleep) so the design itself takes up as much of the shirt as possible to make sure you can read it when you’re down the pub and want to impress your friends by sounding like an African ex-president.
