Words by the designer:
ok this month i had the idea of doing some of my designs to one theme. GODS. well giant things that are cool really. like Godzilla and King Kong and stuff. but with a twist.
Firstly this is not a dig at Christianity, its pretty much meant to be seen from both sides. The colossal Jesus as a greater power that everyone is both shocked and amazed by. as well as confused by. i mean.. why would a giant Jesus be roaming through cities in the first place?

Dusty, not everyone can put their religion aside when it suits them. For some of us it’s with us all the time, not just when we use it to sound self righteous or to win an argument. This is art yes, so everyone is entitled to their opinion being voiced, right?

First of all its a play on words GODzilla! Tokyos style is connected to the design and in no way should it be looked as blasphemy or hurtful. If God/Jesus was a stripper or serial killer, yea this would be a problem, this is a tasteful approach to the idea..

one question is that the illustration doesn’t answer anything of “What would GodZilla do”… so… but anyway great illustration :)

the offensiveness of the content of this design overshadows its good design. well illustrated, but content is demeaning.

I’m not always one to naysay when it comes to a bit of religeous jossling, but unfortunately,as a huge fan of your work it pains me to say that this pushed a bit over what I deem tasteful. If I was an oke wearing a turban, I would probably go bomb someone over this.

Yes, I do agree… It really is a great design, but no religion should be in it.

great picture, but i do not think you should do this to ANY religion. No matter what you believe. People see their God in a certain light and one should not attempt to parody that. It shows a lack of respect for what others believe.
