So you think you know all about the Don’t Care Bear queen do ya?
Well lets just see about that shall we.

1. So tell me about where you grew up, have you lived there all your life or have you bounced around a lot?
Born and living out my life in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town; and it’s my favorite place to be – I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else in the world. SA’s the most beautiful country, with such richness of diversity: people, cultures, breathtaking scenery, fauna and flora.
Definitely not much bouncing around: lived in the same house for over 20 years until I got married 2 & 1/2 years ago.

2. When you were a child what did you want to grow up to be and what would you say is your dream job now?
I went through a few phases of “what I want to be when I grow up” and I’m still not entirely sure I’ve got it pegged. The list in chronological order: singer, vet, game ranger, artist, CGI/special effects artist, video editor, graphic designer, children’s & fantasy book illustrator. Yes, I’m the most indecisive person I know. The latter would be my dream job; and it is for that reason that I resigned a couple months ago from a graphics design agency (after being in the industry for just over 4 years) in order to pursue this goal. I’ve got a lot of work ahead of me…

3. Have you got a big family, how many?
Immediate family: not so big. Just my parents and my older sister; and my husband, which I guess makes a whole new family unit of just the two of us. Extended family: well who doesn’t have a big extended family?

4. What is without doubt the best experience of your life?
My wedding. Even though there were plenty of little hiccups and little things that went wrong, to me it will always be the most perfect day. Walking down the aisle and saying “I do” were the crown of the occasion… well I could go on forever, so I’ll just stop there.

5. If you could have any super power what would it be?
Oh, cool question, it would definitely be telekinesis & telepathy (since they go together) – like Jean Grey, but without the whole freaky phoenix alter ego. The possibilities would be endless… mwahaaahahaa.

6. If you could hang out with any star for a day who would it be?
I’m not star crazy, to me they’re just like regular people (who happen to have made it big). But I’d choose to hang with Bono. There’s a lot more to him than his stardom: he’s relatively down-to-earth; seems to have a great sense of humour; and think he’d generally be a fun guy to hang out with.

7. Who would you consider to be the greatest influence on your actions?
At the risk of sounding cheesy I’m gonna have to say God. Considering He saved me from self-destruction (no, I’m not going to blame the devil for my mistakes), He knows best, so in everything I try to follow His path. I don’t always get it right, but it’s a process and God is gracious.

8. Describe your artistic style in one word.
Evolving. I’m still finding my signature style.

9. What music are you listening to at the moment?
Ah music! There’s so much good music out there… Right at this moment I’m listening to Within Temptation’s album “The Heart of Everything” – it’s one of my favorites. I’m also loving the new Coldplay album. Other favorites would include: Anberlin, Mae, U2, Jars of Clay & Demon Hunter (plus a bit of Enya and Beethoven on the side).

10. If you could speak any language of your choice fluently, what would it be?
Ooooh, I’d choose Finnish (apparently it’s quite tricky though) – it’s largely what Tolkien based his Elvish languages on. Ok, if I could, I’d go for the Elvish languages (Quenya & Sindarin) – they just sound so beautiful. I’m a geek, I know.
