Give Peas A Chance by CraigM
Ok, this is my 2nd try at this submitting thing. I knew i would get something wrong the 1st time, but anyway, hopefully all is now sorted :D
This shirt design “stems” from a conversation with my girlfriend, regarding my extreme dislike of vegetables…
Hope you like :)
Give Peas A Chance with CraigM by DuncanBoxie
Give Peas A Chance is the brainchild of none other than CraigM, who made an impressive debut with this military ode to the war between vegetables and humans with a rather sensitive taste to healthy foods.
Theres no denying the aesthetic power of this design, or that CraigM will be back soon enough with more tantalizing designs.
1. What were you thinking when you first started the design?
How much i hated eating vegetables… no really i despise the
things… my usual intake of greens includes green jellytots, green
jellybeans, and mint icecream…
My gal was trying to convince me to eat more “real” greens at the time.
2. What does this design make you feel?
It was fun to draw, and it brings a smile to my face.
3. How long did it take you to complete your piece?
15 minutes for the pencils, 2 hours for the inks (changed them twice)
and 2 hours for the colours (changed em four times)… so give or take
5 hours.
4. Did any other artwork inspire you to create this?
Not particularly, i did however want to make use of the font that was
used on the old Willis US Army Jeep during WWII.
5. Do you think this design reflects your state of mind from when it was created?
Err… im a very shallow artist, i really couldn’t be arsed about
deaper meanings and hidden truths, i draw because its fun, and this
was fun to draw :)
6. Is this your normal style or an experiment?
Used a one of my older styles.
7. Who do you dedicate this design to?
My Girlfriend :D
8. If you could change anything in this design what would it be?
I would redo the colours, i dont particularly like vector colours, i’d
much prefer to have digitally painted them in.
9. What kind of person do you see wearing this design?
Anyone with a sense of humor :)
10. If you could pick any artist to recreate this piece for you who would it be?
High hopes here, but i’d love to see Stephen Platt give it a
workover… then again if he decided to give me a scribble on a napkin
I’d probably keel over from excitement.
