Boxey designs don’t work weill on a tee or on the body since the body is not square, and the canvas of the t-shirt is basically a recatangle.

Think of this design in a art gallery. You have a a 15×20 canvas and only using 1/3 of the canvas. Thats doesn’t mean all designs need to be full front prints, but take consideration how a “square” design would look on a recatangler “moving” canvas. Hope that helps convey what I mean.

To back up Darko, the site says you can use the sketch however you want, but who knows if it means commercially…Hope its all a mix up, b/c darko has amazing work, a lot better then just coloring some other artist peice

SO you stole someones work and put it on a tee?
wow, good job at moderating springleap, im tired of this garbage…

Return Of Bunny-X Aug 18th 2011, 07:35 talk_t

Well is the design yours or hers? The line work and everything is the same? Did she rip you or did you rip her?

ninja Aug 18th 2011, 07:35 talk_t

We found a rip on facebook using this image!
Vhie Distro

LOL the plot thickens!
I am suprised that an artist would allow their original sketch to be used freely anywhere else, especially commercially.

If shipping is out of your control then you need more control on your shipping because that REFLECTS on your BUSINESS..
Maybe change where production is who knows but wow…

When family and friends will buy 3 teefury shirts over 1 springleap tee because it takes 3 months to ship says something. If you get “offended” by this conversation amongst people who have an invested intrest in the site, I would hate to see waht people say on the net that aren’t this connected. The only problem I always have is it seems the problem gets passed on to someone else..

Shipping is not your problem its all South Africa..
Production is not your problem becuae printers in South Africa are terrible..
T-shirt sales arent your problem because designers arent promoting..When do you take the blame and say ya know we are learning as you go and unfortunetly its hurting your sales and in turn hurting other areas of the company.

I appreciate you being active in the discussion but accountablity needs to be taken. Waiting 3 months for shirts because thats normal South Africa post service is not going to get repeat sales, is not going to bring you to the top 3 design sites..Lets be honest with eachother..

Tuism! Aug 18th 2011, 07:34 peeps

Tu congrats on the SPORK design! I know your ass broke $1k you little sneaky devil you! Perfect timing on releasing the tee after the movie! Loved it bro!

CropPixels Aug 18th 2011, 07:34 talk_t

ARE YOU A Aug 18th 2011, 07:34 peeps

Yikes, I understand your frustration, I have 5 winning designs at Springleap and only really got my “prize” so far for only three of the tees.

The problem I think that Berry pointed out is very clear, if you don’t live in South Africa you are going to get screwed. Not saying that SA designers on here don’t get the shaft but the “fix” can be handled faster.

I for the one am still waiting for my Malicious Bear design that was sent almost a month ago.

Something that was created out of all the bad business is the site RUMPLO.COM is a good site for designers and companies to promote their stuff, and only t-shirts. Rumplo is very strick, no Cafepress or Spreadshirt or Zazzle or any Print on Demand sites. I can’t even upload Springleap tees because:
this is a quote from Rumplo.com themselves.
————————————-
We’re in the process of adjusting our whitelist. Parts of Springleaps will not be allowed on Rumplo for the foreseeable future because we cannot confirm that designs actually have been printed and ready to ship within a reasonable time for the consumer. Springleap tees cannot be posted to Rumplo.
——————————————-
I know you guys stepped up your game and started printing a lot faster, but when some of the biggest people in the industry don’t bring up Springleap as a tee design contest or a sweet place to sell shirts, it makes me nervous what THE INDUSTRY thinks of it. Maybe it should be only open to South Africans if its this hard to cater to the countries involved.

Maybe if there wasnt all this SMOKE and mirros then people would BUY from SPRINGLEAP! Maybe if we knew that it takes 10 freakin weeks(never heard that it takes that long) to get somehting sent, maybe if we knew when these “developers” are going to “finish their report”

To be honest, I don’t promote too many of my springleap designs because when someone buys 1, they complain that it took 4 months to get to them..unfortunetly there goes a customer, and that is family and friends.. I think the ball is dropped with you guys, let us know when this report will be ready and when “royalties” get paid out.

I think the transparency of the site needs to be available. Someone claims and you run to the rescue to say how you will fix it and then 4 months later its the same problem. Mikdog has asked about royalties months ago and now just now, you are getting the “reports”. Stuff like this transcends to sales, its not the designers promotion efforts that are lacking friends.

SungiCMYK Aug 18th 2011, 07:34 talk_t

I like it, but they don’t look like true CMYK colors tho, well and maybe putting it on black would bring in more K
