And in the bottle is the soda (wait for it) POP and that’s why he’s so sad, m’kay!
POP being dad/father/etc.
I think there may be a lot more at stake for Springleap than a couple of bruised egos if they, trusting us to submit original ideas, put someone else’s artwork onto their product and claim it as their own.
They really are trusting that when we tick the Terms and Conditions box, stating that we have sole ownership of the designs submitted, that we are telling the truth.
Integral, don’t stop submitting your designs – the medium does not decide whether one is an artist or not … whether you draw with a pencil, manipulate a computer mouse or use your wedding tackle to put paint on canvass, like Pricasso (ouch!), if someone thinks it’s art, then it’s art!
None of us exists in a vacuum – we are influenced by design every day – sometimes we use elements deliberately, say, if we’re wanting a retro feel, and at others, we’re convinced the design just came together organically – but take a look at the media on which you’re feeding, and you’ll see that a lot of it will be regurgitated in your work. That’s just the way it is.

This shirt is a play on the T-Shirt slogan “Dip me in chocolate and feed me to the LESBIANS”. I think it’s funny. But I think too much, so…
:) I didn’t know there were supposed to be sweat stains on my submissions, people … the brief is to design T-Shirt that will SELL … not simply to gather and enjoy the smell of our own FARTS! Ha. :)
IGY, I am so with you. Please see my response below:
I also make my living selling pictures and words (and I think good spelling is IMPERATIVE) but even if I didn’t…

Dear Darko,
Who is my target market? Anyone who wears clothes … and clearly “dirty” girls like Josie and me who need a jolly good … cleaning. Actually, in the blurb above, I’ve got a pretty accurate profile going on. Do you have a picture in your mind of the guy or girl who would buy your designs? Because I’d rather pay my rent than try and subsist on purity of design and principles.
It seems to me, on this site at least, that if it isn’t a Munch-like nightmare-scape, it ain’t worth sh*t. I happen to like my art in the pop style, and I find parodies on slogans extremely clever.
And DuncanBoxie, where do you differentiate between KingC’s Puma ripoff and mine … if neither has been done before, then surely both are original?
Very Gary Larson :) He makes me smile. A lot. So does this T. Your bovine design is also very well suited to the screen-printing medium. Good Luck!
… and they’re also smoking their socks. Oh, that’s doubly funny!
Dear Eric,
Ees a beeg problem … your site has suddenly become soooo sloooow … are people simply flooding your with entries? Thinking you might have to extend that comp. deadline … I’ve been trying to submit an entry all night and most of this morning … not happening :(
Regards,
Alex
Chloe (age 11) says she would definitely make me (her mama) buy this T-shirt!! So you’ve got her vote … and they are making us spend the money, so, GOOD FOR YOU!!!
Chloe (age 11) says she would definitely make me (her mama) buy this T-shirt too (and the shark one)!! I think it’s good to know that there’s a market for your work, because it doesn’t matter if it IS art if no one wants to buy it. Good Luck!
How true, how true! This is a cute design, but shouldn’t your cats be going “meow”?!
3Qs for Nic:
1. Are YOU a young, horny male?
2. I’m guessing mahspace is a website … what is their connection with the design?
3. How come you got to comment on this design four days before the voting opened?
:)
