You know, at first glance I thought this design was utterly boring. “Another tree…” I thought to myself. But then I enlarged it, “hang on… are those… hands??”.

This is a very very clever design, I just think that it needs to be done in a way that conveys the concept quicker to the viewer. To 99% of people this will be just another tree on a branch, so I thin you need to find a way to make this design more bold. The design is lost against the green tee, partly because there is no trunk colour. How about colouring the trunk and putting it on a lighter tee? White?

Woah!! Talk about letting your inner cat out of it’s bag! I think this is very well executed indeed. Placement is good and there is no shortage of detail, yet even from a distance the wolf’s figure would be clearly visible.

And hey, to top it off, this is a two colour design right? well done!

This is simply just the bomb! It’s so wearable, subtle yet the message is bold, loud and clear. Those damn sharks, biting us each time! Well done

This is very effective, and well executed! Just imagine, this is a one colour job – clever – and can even be reversed out on shirts of a colour other than white, how sweet is that!

Personally – and this is just me – I would move the design up by about 5-10cm as I feel that it will sit better a little more over the chest.

Great job!

Oh, I forgot to add, this would be the perfect shirt to wear to the dentist!

This is clever, very clever, however I must agree with DuncanBoxie on this one, the design is so well done, yet one takes a few seconds to actually realize the detail, and this is because it is upside down.

Maybe having it the right side up (if there is a right side) and at the bottom left / right could be a second option.

Great, fun and worry free summer T this is.

I Love Japan Aug 18th 2011, 07:36 talk_t

Hehe, the idea is there indeed. Some more time could have been spent on the execution of the design though. I feel as though it is floating around with not much “grounding” if you understand what I mean?

You have used this interesting textured font, but then the circle is a solid red. I understand the Japanese flag concept, but maybe try add some texture to the red as well?

Hey, it’s a BIG step up from the I ♥ NY!

I like where this is going, and the colours are nice too, almost muted but just not quite. The design could be moved down a bit more (others agree??).

Maybe consider adding some more texture / detail to the splatter marks etc to give it another dimension.

Lol, the more I look at it the more I imagine that it’s Sonic the Hedgehog behind that mask ;)

This is so cute! This is a great example of negative space used effectively! This could be placed on any tee as long as the brown / clay colour is changed to a colour close to that of the tee.

Nice, rats in my belly!

@DuncanBoxie Appreciate it! Been a while, but I planning on frequenting the Springleap pages from now on!

@badgone34 Thank you!

@acme – Perhaps not totally on par with the brief, but still along the lines of communication, power and connectivity, but in a more abstract sense.

@Maike – Thanks for the kind words

I love how you’ve used the base colour of the shirt so effectively, and it lends itself nicely to the retro style colour pallette. Definitely one of the best designs submitted for theme comp IMO.
