Just another celebrity fashion label?

David Arquette of Scream fame has teamed up with well renowned musician, Ben Harper , to create their own clothing line of urban sleek design.

I was watching a few videos of these guys as they chat about their new endeavor and they really seem a bit all-over-the-place .
It seem that the 3 founders don’t get too heavily involved in the actual designing of these garments. They select cuts and colors and recreate vintage pieces….hmmmm, so sounds a bit scary.

Arquette recently did a new tee for their line which is now being sold exclusively on xojane.com
This is a limited edition tee… thank goodness!
I say this because it is one of the lamest t-shirt designs I have seen in ages.
Our Springleapers would shake their heads if it ever made its way onto our vote section.

You can see in the main blog image just how *simplistic the tee actually is.
Not to mention the message “I love therefore I am”, which by the way is not original and I have seen on tee designs in the past.

Is this another example of a t-shirt being ‘cool’ simply because it was designed by somebody famous?
I weep at simple cruddy slogan designs like this!

Now perhaps it’s just the level of talent that I am used to on our site which makes me recoil from such a design, but I’m wondering what
kind of person would wear this tee?

Luckily it’s not all doom and gloom . In one of their videos I saw some really nice chilled ladies wear , which I can see taking off.
However, these dudes need some serious help with their t-shirts….and their logo, which is rather shikaka.

Here’s wishing them luck in their venture. Let’s hope their passion for clothing extends beyond a simple ‘flight of fancy’ which will peter our when they both land opportunities in their professions of choice.
Will they just hand over the design and creativity to a team of professional and simply be the ‘face’ of the brand?

They seem like a mellow bunch of guys, so let’s see what they can deliver.
