In 2011 458 rhinos were killed in South Africa by poachers.
This is an absolutely horrific statistic…and one that has increased steadily over the past few years!

Ron Olivier (AKA: Incynqron) has submitted an amazing design to our Battle of the Best contest, which really highlights this serious issue, and he has pledged to donate HALF of the winning prize money towards the cause, if his design wins.

Ron’s design, entitled Absolute Red, is a ‘heavy’ yet poignant look into the harsh reality of Africa’s rhinos.

The rhino is one of Africa’s most iconic animals. We can no longer stand idly by muttering “shame, shame”. We need to get off our lazy butts and get the message out there. These majestic creatures are being poached by sick individuals in order to supply ignorant superstitious buyers, who are under the misconception that rhino horns have medicinal properties. This of course has been scientifically debunked!

Edna Molewa, South African environmental affairs minister, has urged anyone and everyone to get involved in the war against rhino poaching. You can find out more about what Molewa plans to do by checking out this informative article in The Star.

Not only is Absolute Red an amazing design on a technical level, but it also hits home with a strong message. In my opinion, Ron has executed this concept with flawless precision. Well done as always, sir!
