At Springleap we love and cherish arts and culture – in fact, personally – I have always seen Cape Town as the hub or Arts and Culture for Southern Africa. Today a particular part of that culture stands to be denied – not only to us, but all the generations that follow. This is the great art of classical performance : the Ballet.
Now scram all ye who snicker and under their breath sneer “Men in Tights” – stow that speech and observe the grace and wonder of the ballet and it’s celebration of the human form, and expression through movement and music. I remember as a child the reverence my parents had for the Ballet – both my parents – and the nights that I saw Swan Lake, The Nutcracker or The Kiss – it was FANTASTICAL – especially since I saw them performed by the prestigious Kirov and Bolshoi Today the Cape Town Ballet is in danger of being shut down. This has moved the Cape Town community to collaborate and create the movement Save the Cape Town Ballet SO THIS IS A CALL TO ALL It’s time to dig deep and type hard. It’s time to save an important piece of culture, not just for us, but for the generations to come… and Springleap stand united with savecapetowncityballet.co.za to achieve that end… but * we need your help*

C’mon people – this is an opportunity to get involved and really be a meaningful part of saving arts and culture here is South Africa. Although Johannesburg is fantastic, especially with regards to supporting arts and culture, Cape Town has always been the hub of performance and movie production. The Movie production and design industry here is AMAZING! So take responsibility of being a part of the thriving community of Cape Town that supports and engenders the arts. Here is another clip of what YOU COULD BE MISSING IF WE DON’T ALL GET INVOLVED – anything helps – big or small. here is the Kirov ballet performing The Nutcracker by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky
