We’re still trying to sort out July everyone! Printing in South Africa is one of the biggest challenges we’ve ever had. The printers can’t get the quality we want!!

UPDATE ON SEPTEMBER WINNERS:

Tshirts – MOST READY (a few colours are still being cut)
Printing – Still printing July designs – NOT READY
Badges – READY
Booklets – NOT READY Still Being designed
Postcards – NOT READY Still Being designed

heya Kingslip, we decreased the number from 20 to 10 for a number of reasons…we announced the decision to decrease the number before submissions for the September comp started in late August.

1. because we’re a new company, 20 tshirt designs every month was a HUGE project management issue to ensure we had 20 designs printed every month with cotton, cutting, printing, badges & postcards.

2. sales are picking up, but it will take time for people to feel comfortable buying tshirts online, and we want to increase the number of the ones we decide to print as printing a few is INCREDIBLY EXPENSIVE. So we’ll rather print fewer designs, but hopefully quickly start printing more of them.

3. We had multiple requests for the runner-up’s to get some sort of prize, so from the September comp we are paying the runner-up’s R200 each (and the big winner gets the R7482,18).

So even though we have less winners each month, they’ll get MORE as they’ll get a cash prize upfront AND we’ll hopefully print more of their designs so they get MORE royalties.
