I’ve been sorting old emails and came across this GEM of a mail which describes how we came up with the name “springleap”.

Here’s the mail I sent to the team on the 21st November 2007 at 12.55 AM (basically one in the morning!!!) letting everyone know about the final decision on the name….

Hi Everyone,

I’m sitting with Eran and it’s around 1am! But we needed to finalise
the name, and XYZ.com and XYZ just weren’t right…

So Duncan, the name you said you liked earlier today, which is one of
the ones Eran sent in the list a few days ago is the one we’re going
with…

The name of our new website is:

3. Spring – things grow
4. springboard – menu on iPhone
5. Spring Break – varsity students
6. CounterMove taught to Monks…(google springleap and you’ll see
these entries come up)
