right, so this is pretty much an exercise in (emotionally weighted) metacognition: the title has both physical (-26.576946, 18.141292) and metaphysical context. (maybe i should stop watching shows like “i propose”…) |

lol Pretty much, yeah ;0) The text translates to: Sometimes I wonder where you are and what you’re doing. How you are doing. And your parents, your brother, your work… Now and then, when I’m on my own, I wonder if you too can see the sun. If you can also feel the seasons turning. Its here, in the winterveld outside Keetmanshoop, that I manage to think about you clearly. Here my being is quiet enough for me to listen to my heart – without the deafening roar. Can you remember how it roared? How the music spun around us? Can you remember how the Franschoek rain enveloped us, how the hearth’s fire stole our words in Paarl? I haven’t played cards on the floor since Stellenbosch. My Nataniël records are gathering dust somewhere, in a box that got lost when I moved. I wonder if I still have that poem I wrote you. It was one of my favorites, really. Do you still have the note? I wonder if you can remember how I wrote on my windows. That was years ago. Can you believe it? I wonder sometimes…
