New competition format

shoutOut on 30/11/08 by EranEyal in wordUp

From the 1st January 2009, the main Springleap competition is now fortnightly rather than monthly.

The main change is that there is ONLY 1 WINNER every 2 weeks.

All the details are on the prize page.

If you have any questions ask below.

Hey guys – no more runner ups!

1 winner every 2 weeks!

The whole point of the new format – ie the erradication of the runners up was that the runner ups were complaining about the small initial prizes and that it will take so long for them to see residual payments.

This way they get their designs back immediately after the competition and they can improve them and enter again or do with them as they wish. The point is that we are trying to respect the rights of the artists.

Over time eventually we will have even more competitions every month.

So it’s really going to be 1 shirt every 2 weeks – which means 2 shirts get printed every 4 weeks/month VS the previous 10 shirts every month?

Are there going to be runner ups? How many? Etc Etc.

Looking forward to the tighter competition format, and the crit forum too :)

You can now start entering for each of the 2 new competitions in January.

When you come to submit your design, you can choose which competition your work will be entered into from the drop-down box.

If you entered after this month’s deadline (27th November 2008) until today – have not fear we granted a small time extension and your work will appear in the December competition.

We have been listening attentively to all your requests and comments, and from the 1st of January the competition format changes to a Bi-Weekly.

We believe that this is a lot more rewarding for the artists and will allow us to get our t-shirts out sooner. Additionally, if you don’t win the cash and the credit, the design still belongs to you and you are free to either improve on it and resubmit or to do with as you wish immediately.

Even if you don’t win, Springleap is one of the most traversed, respected and innovative websites in the world and a heck of a lot of people get to see your work giving you great exposure as an artist.

Tell us what you think! Our ears, minds and hearts are open

Tell us what you think!
