In this shirt… I deep-etched a photo of Louise Carver. I searched a few images but found that this was, in my opinion, the best. She looks elegant and seductive in this photo. My next step was to to use a “sumi-e” effect on photoshop to strengthen the contrast and create a textured image. I inserted the moon with a glow (for the “saved by the moonlight” integration of the cd), as well as creating a vector tree for an African feel (she said the song “home” was written whilst in London about the greatness of South Africa). I had a little trouble with deciding on the outcome of this design as I originally had a blue shirt in mind, but it also landed up looking good on brown, black, grey and even yellow and pink XD i hear brown and pink are her favourite colours… |

I actually use that action all the time when I am changing photos into paths…works great.. I think someone from her camp could of done this, its a little too literall interpertation of her..try some halftones, try some distress or something to give it weight…

Agree with the rest of the comments. Besides the head the cut off at the bottom is also distracting… have a look at this tutorial, I think it will give you some guidelines on how to change the image of a person into a 3 layer vector. which would help sort out the cut and paste look of this design. Also the glow of the moon / text, I think that needs to be done as a half tone…If you’re using photoshop it can be done quite easily, check out this tutorial.

thanks man XD hehe… i wasn’t too sure what louise’s taste was (just knew she likes pink and brown and feminine things…) so that’s what i went for, drawing her crazy styles… not sure if it would’ve fitted XD

it still looks like a cut and paste job, especially with her head being chopped. Surely you could have drawn the rest in.
