SoundCloud - add music

shoutOut on 11/4/11 by DuncanBoxie in wordUp

Have you ever wanted your music to reach thousands of people in just a few clicks?

Sounds impossible right! There are a few places online where you can host your music, such as on Myspace, but nothing I have seen before compares to SoundCloud .

This is one seriously handy website!

SoundCloud gives you the power to upload any and all audio files and share them with the world.
Think about how versatile this could be.
If you were a musician you could record your original tracks and upload them straight to SoundCloud.

This enables you to widen your reach and gain hordes of new fans who will search for their music via specific keywords and favoured genres .
Also, you can link SoundCloud to just about every Social Media platform.

Not bad at all!

Another really nifty use is if you have a website or blog and would like to add a music track, or specific sound file.
No problem, either search for the track manually, or upload the track yourself…provided you have permission to do so.

Obviously if you want to upload a track from a band that you have no affiliation with, you will need to speak to them first…don’t get yourself in trouble hehehe.

Think of the possibilities.

For instance, right now, Springleap is hosting a competition for local South African band, Stepdog .
The competition rules stipulate that you must listen to their tracks and choose one to base your designs around.
So, I hosted the 6 Stepdog tracks on SoundCloud and embedded them onto Springleap (with permission of course, hehe).
Now the designers can easily listen to the tracks and put together some wicked cool t-shirt designs.

Here are some tracks I added using SoundCloud:

Gui Boratto – No Turning Back (Trojan Beatz Remix) Unreleased by beatz2krecordings

THE PIXIES – Monkey Gone to Heaven (KRUSHA Remix) by krusha

Goldfish – Get Busy Living (James Copeland RMX) by James Copeland

Are you on SoundCloud? Would you like to be? Check out SoundCloud for yourself!

Let us know what you think and if you feel it has a place in online marketing ….we would love to get your opinion.
Perhaps you know an even better way to host your music!

We are all ears.

Amazing! Will give it a try. Can you also download / listen / buy tracks off there?
