Suggest Changes for Springleap?

shoutOut on 14/8/08 by Eric in wordUp

We’ve been hearing some whispers in the conversation on the message boards on springleap, about some changes you’d like to see…

So thought it’s best to set up a section where you can suggest changes or improvements or things we should add to springleap, and we can discuss them and see whether we should go ahead and do them.

So anything you think we should change / add / improve / move around etc on springleap, let us know below, and lets see whether we can make it happen…

Thanks for the hint SilverSabre! I will write up a tutorial for halftones for printing, in the mean time, check out Jimiyos tutorial on you tube, he is a beast in apparel, and have several designs printed at designbyhumans.com and other merch companies. I will do it once the October contest is up and running, I want to make sure I got my submission in..I am trying to crack the top 5 this month!

great points SilverSabre – we’re going to be adding lots of features for designers

I would love to see which of my designs were in which competition…

On the my creation page it would be cool if the text read ‘entered into the October competition’

It will help keep track of how many designs I have submitted per competition…

Goggl3boy – great suggestions

previewing and editing of forum postings is on the list

will ask eran to put the tutorial of the PDF into a blog post, so it can be discussed

shoutBack on 20/9/08 by Eric

Maybe a tutorial on how to correctly use the submission pack. Like the PDF version, but on line where people can ask questions and comment.

Hi, Not sure if this has been mentioned, but it would be great to preview posts before submitting them, especially on our profile pages. Also, editing of posts on your profile page would be sweet.

nice idea SilverSabre – any other tutorials wanted besides that one? should we start a new thread to discuss ideas for tutorials?

shoutBack on 19/9/08 by Eric

Hey Eric, didnt spot your reply in the miriad of other posts :)

For the tutorials I would personally benefit more from designers writing up a tutorial in a specific tutorial section. Eg. Integral could do a step by step how-to on halftones..(hint hint Integral :) )

Videos I’m not so sure, because they tend to be platform (i.e photoshop / illustr8/ fireworks etc) specific, and it would be better to make the tutorials as generic as possible. So maybe text tutorials with screenshots?

heya kingslip

thanks for the suggestions

1. we will get to a mobile friendly version – we want to develop some more features for the web, and once we are happy, then we’ll work out how to get them onto the mobile. we’ll try do a m.springleap version as soon as possible and then move onto a downloadable application for the different mobile platforms a bit further down the line

2. we want to show some more stats to the designers and some more stats to the general community. we’re still trying to figure out what we should and shouldn’t show in order to keep things fair – but in the next few months, we’ll be including a lot more stats

shoutBack on 13/9/08 by Eric

two things:

1.)is it possible to make springleap mobile friendly
2.) some progressive stats on your design. ie: how many votes have you had, how many 1’s 2’s 3’s ect., you know that kind of thing. is it possible for it to be visible to only the designer
