Taxi!

I watched district 9 yesterday. great movie. south african charm, aliens and most importantly… big robots! I thought what would I want as the ultimate in “bling”… duh giant robot… in this case what the goverment should be giving taxi drivers ahead of 2010…. not boring new minivans, but minivan that… (cling) “transform” into GIANT ROBOTS!!! If megas XLR can do it we can.

I say with a heavy heart this may be the last of my sketchy, paint-by-numbers style entries, cause ill be getting a tablet soon (heard it helps :P) but as normal give me crit I really want to know where to improve and make myself better :)

PS. Hope this doesnt look too sketchy its meant to be that way, but I do have bio and IT exams tomorrow and probaly should study :)

Thanks acme and willy. Im actually thinking the same thing after getting progressivly sick of the sight of it, hopefully ill be able to fix it up and make it less pencil-drawing-y, but at the mo my computer is dead and will only return much later plus iv got exams, i was thinking of making the next version more ink drawing like with a scratchy effect like this

I agree with acme here. I actually hope it doesn’t do well just so you can redo it because i think the concept is REALLY amazing but the execution isn’t too hot.

@ CloMo: Thanks for the loooooong feedback :) ya the “taxi” does look abit out but it was kinda thrown together at the last minute, but ill keep the use of colour in mind, (and agreed megas is awesome :))

I love the sketchiness, it is such a cool design technique and something I don’t see enough of on Springleap.
I agree with Duncan, it does need some depth. I really don;t like the font saying TAXI. It kills the rest of the design for me and makes it look ‘tacky’. I think if you wanted to write taxi which is cool, then maybe create it so it is branded on the transformer somewhere so it is subtle. It would look radical. Hrmmmm… how bout some more color here? REALLY GREAT concept :D He needs more bling though! and.. I love Megas XLR by the way.. AWESOME!

Haha a township taxi transformer, thats bloody funny dude.
Yeah I like teh sketchy look…but you could have even made it more sketchy. The robot almost looks too bright, needs a bit more shade and depth.
Otherwise very nice idea, keep leaping bud.
