Sorry to harp on – but I would like to see you get this right since the idea is quite cool. I also would not make the fire hydrant and the chilli sit on the same horizontal line. I qould make the fire hydrant bigger and move it downward to help create a sense of depth and better triangular composition.

On a positive note, btw – this is a cool idea, but it needs a lot of work. The fireman is cool as he is. The rest needs to change.

I think you are onto something here – but you have mixed too many illustrative styles. I think that you could firtly make the chilli much larger and the pipe going smaller to create a better feeling of perspective. The Fire Hydrant and the flame share a common element of design error – they simply do not gel with the rest of the design styles. If you are going cartoon – go cartoon. Don’t mix gradients and blends.
