Okes, is there anyway I can submit a Vernon Koekemoer shirt? Yes it’s not original, and no I’m not a brilliant designer, but the signs of the times guys, the signs of the times – my friends would all buy one. They already told me so. So do I get to enter based on the popularity of my figure on the t-shirt or is it no go? |

perhaps Vern shirts are already being made by the thousands in a sweat shop somewhere.

but the whole point it’s Vernon! So he’s an icon already, surely poetic license can be extended to iconism within one’s own creations?

OK…Brigand. So can I create another Vern Koek? As in my own character portrayed on various shirts?

Basically put : I think this is an EXCELLENT question, Blogqueen. At springleap we are only interested in creativity and original design. SO what is NOT original design? Anything that is not your idea or your original material. So don’t take someone else’s design and modify it and then put it up on springleap. We aren’t interested. It’s soooooo freaking BOOOOOORRRRRIIIINNNGGG. Get your own ideas man! Do not even think about arguing : I found this design on the net and it’s copyright free, bro.. Or : I took this totally bland or crap design and made it mine. Ja – you just keep lying to yourself. Quite frankly : we are only interested in designs that are yours FROM SCRATCH. This is why we absolutely STRESSSSSSSSS That you must read the READ ME FIRST.pdf in the springleap tshirt template pack you need to download from the springleap site to enter a design in our competitions. Regarding Vern or popular celeb tshirt prints, 2 things need to be considered : 1. You would need the written permission of that person to print their name or use their image. 2. We do not allow full colour prints – you have 7 colours to work with. So skin tones and such are a nono. One must remember that Vern is a trademark unto himself and he could sue us for printing his name or image without his permission. So sadly Vern shirts are out. Sad indeed but understandable.
