Which artist has inspired you most??

Hey there everybody.
I was curious to see which artists you all respected and of course which have effected your style the most over the years.
For me the best artist of my youth would have been a fantastic artist called Joe Madureira, who has drawn for numerous comic books such as The Amazing X-men, Battle Chasers and The Ultimates.
Recently Ive enjoyed artists from various online communities, such as the amazing Bara-Chan and the maddening Keithwormwood.
Who inspires you??

I have to say one of my best pals : Nikhil Singh.

I grew up with Nikhil and watched his technique develope very closely – her is without a doubt one of the strongest illustrators in the world today.

Nikhil is Durban born and bred, and now resides in London with his awesome babe : Carmen, who is also an AMAZING artist.

Nikhil is one of these super special prototypes never meant for mass production. He acts, writes, draws, paints, sings, plays a variety of instruments and composes with the skill of someone who has been reborn several lifetimes over. The man is a MASTER.

best of all -he’s one of my very best pals, and it is a privilege to call him such.

He is TOTALLY deicated and has had a graphic novel reacently published : Salem Brownstone.

Check out Nikhil Singh’s website : Nickhil Singh.com

There you can check out some of the man’s amazing art and music.

Other artists who have really moved me are ironically very close to me : Bevis Martin – maestro of aesthetics and woodwind. He draws, paints, sculpts, makes flutes and plays them with the most uncanny skill. He just seems to have the ability to cut to the core of all things aesthetic.

Irani Sangham – she is studying multimedia design at Vega. This is one upa and coming artist to watch out for – her mandala-centric art is awe-inspiring.

hmmmm… Colwyn Thomas, Richard Hart, Trevor Paul, Theory 1, Jon Goodman, Stick-a-thing these are some of the artists I dig the most. oer – there are so many!!!

Of course there are the absolute classics like Escher, Japanese Ukiyo-e artists such as Yoshitoshi and Joe Hasui (my fave)… hmmm yeah! and Ernst Haeckel (THE MAN!!!). Yeah – there’s Dali of course, and comic artist/anime like Frank Miller and Miyazaki

I like Jeff Finely from Gomedia.us Not only is he one of the best designers of the company, but he also is an amazing illustrator and his custom typograpghy and line work. Not only is he just a good artist, but has some great insight into the visual communication industry, and always give great advice and tutorials.
