The Itch - Thumbnail The Itch by simon

We spent easter in Sedgefield, near George, one road from the Lagoon. Water often means mozzies, and there sure was no shortage of industrial grade mozzies in this small village. Night after night there was that distinct buzzing noise in the atmosphere. This time I decided to keep my cool, hold myself back and… well pay tribute to all the victims I guess? I decided to make a design based on these beastly mozzies, and it flowed from there on!

This is a design that I am sure everyone worldwide can relate to!

All about The Itch with simon by DuncanBoxie

The Itch blew us all away with its clever humor and excellent execution, we all can all relate to this design…especially those of us who live close to large bodies of water LOL.

Duncs: What were you thinking when you first started the design?
Simon: “…SH*T, I better get designing before the deadline arrives!”

Duncs: What was the original concept idea?
Simon: My original idea was to have a piece of string on fire, running away from the approaching flame.

Duncs: How long did it take you to complete your piece?
Simon: About 30 minutes

Duncs: Did any other artwork inspire you to create this?
Simon: Not at all, just my crazy excuse for a brain.

Duncs: Do you think this design reflects your state of mind from when it was created?
Simon: NO

Duncs: Is this your normal style or an experiment?
Simon: It is sort of my original style of being simple but effective. This was a little more simple however..

Duncs: Who do you dedicate this design to?
Simon: To my girlfriend, Carly, you crazy thing you!

Duncs: If you could change anything in this design what would it be?
Simon: Nothing…

Duncs: Which other Springleap artists do you respect?
Simon: DustyRich because he almost always gives constructive criticism…

Duncs: How can art save the world?
Simon: Save the trees, use a pen tablet!
