theKaptiv is an extremly talented local designer, who has a truck full of design might to show the world.
1. So tell me about where you grew up, have you lived there all your
life or have you bounced around a lot?
Born in the Free State, moved to Cape Town just before I turned
4, and been a Northern Suburbs neighborhood kid ever since.
2. When you were a child what did you want to grow up to be and what
would you say is your dream job now?
Wanted to be a game ranger, but as I grew up I think the uniform
spoiled that idea, and so any art orientated job became my end goal.
Dream Job now would be storyboarding for major productions.
3. Have you got a big family, how many?
Yes, too many and counting! I haven’t procreated yet though.
4. What is without doubt the best experience of your life?
Tough draw. It’s between jumping from a 20 meter high cliff,
trying to avoid becoming a splat on the opposite cliff face or being
chased by a police chopper and 3 vans. long story!
5. If you could have any super power what would it be?
Super strength, . . no! teleportation, no! . . . super speed . .
. or maybe telekinesis . . . I DON’T KNOW. Thats an unfair question!!
6. If you could hang out with any star for a day who would it be?
Disney’s Goofy – reckon he’d make a kick ass party accomplice!!!
7. What makes the world go round?
Gravitational pull and the amount of zero’s behind the coma.
8. What makes you a better person than the average man on the street?
Nothing. I am the average man on the street. I’m not better, just
different by choice and circumstance.
9. What music are you listening to at the moment?
Tool, Deftones, KillSwitch, Metallica, Saul Williams, NIN, RATM,
Jesper Kyd, Cypress Hill, good ‘ol’ Bob, etc, etc – nothing
regurgitated by commercial radio.
10. Do you think there is an afterlife, what kind do you expect to find?
I do, one where truth is simply that! comprehensible and not
tainted with bullsh%*
