Springleap is excited to announce the launch of a new partnership in conjunction with African Cream Records !

Springleap African Cream will be targeted specifically at curio/tourist stores across South Africa. To celebrate we are holding a very special competition to find one OR MORE designs that will enter the collection.

Yup, you could see your design in stores across South Africa and worn by tourists from all over the world.

What makes South Africa special? Uniting us in our hearts and minds?

Is it the geography, the seas, the mountains, the cities? Or is it the culture, the history… the PEOPLE ?

This competition is a tribute to the HEROES that fought to overcome adversity and contributed to South Africa being the amazing country it is today. People like Nelson Mandela, Steve Biko, Chris Hani, Miriam Makeba, Lucky Dube, Brenda Fassie to name a few; people whose passion for this great nation transformed it.

Nelson Mandela once said “If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart.”

Open up your heart and challenge yourself to take inspiration from these trailblazers to design a t-shirt that presents their faces in a new light and allows their legend to live on. Share your vision. Use your creative talents to help us see their faces through your hearts and eyes.

Some basic rules:

No photos or edited photos.

Only self-created designs will be considered.

We are looking for designs done from scratch with great design flair; designs that aren’t the standard fare of a printed face pasted on a shirt.

Originality, creativity and ingenuity are the name of the day, but remember, you should still be able to clearly recognize the person depicted.

Parodies, caricatures, collages, sketches are all fair game.

Dates to diarise:

Submissions for designs open: 21 January 2021

Submissions for designs close: 23 February 2021

Voting starts: 25 February 2021

Voting ends: 11 March 2021

Winner is announced: 11 March 2021
