Quite a few of you have mailed and contacted us in the last few days, saying that Scotty should be banned from springleap.

What should it take for a person to get banned?

He’s been rude to others, but quite a few people have been rude to others, and no-one asked them to be banned.

But his language has been a little extreme in my opinion.

but springleap isn’t about my opinion. it’s about what we all think.

the only thing which i think is fair is to have a competition with one entry - voting for whether scotty should be banned from springleap.

you like, or anyone got better ideas on how to handle this?

awesome stuff that he got banned… he really was awful in terms of his statements… just a pity we didnt get the chance to see Goggl3boy whip his #ss in the design-off… lol.. that would have been awesome….

I know its a bit late for feedback here, but I’d like to add a few ideas for the criteria of banning.

I’ve belonged to a few design communities online and the general FAQ’s and terms and conditions usually out line the following as grounds for a ban or the removal of posts that are offensive or illegal:

Forum Conduct:
1: Multiple Accounts or “sock puppeting”.
2: Excessive use of bad language.
3: “Trolling” or harassing other members of the site, Defined as:
3.1. To irritate or torment persistently.
3.2. To verbally provoke another member for the purpose of eliciting an emotional response.
4: Racism.
5: Spamming defined as:
5.1: Spam is promoting your product or service where its not wanted, a bit like junk mail.
6: Posting requests for free work.
7:Privacy, defined as:
7.1: Respecting other people’s right to personal privacy and not posting any other person’s identifying information (including their names, contact information, and any other relevant information) within the forums.
8:Posting any material that is knowingly false, misleading, or inaccurate.
9: Illegal Content defined as:
9.1: Posting about Warez, Serials, Hacking, Virus Creation, P2P, file sharing, drugs, underage drinking or anything else illegal.

I dont see the point in banning him. He can just sign up under a different name. But if there is a way I say hell yes ban him, he is an insulting irritating no good “designer”. Notice the “ “ its because I havent seen any designs from him.

I do agree a good mock-up could kill a design, for some reason digital ones don’t do it for me, a design could look totally different with a real tee. Thats why I am uber happy Springleap now shows real product shots! Yippe, lets go 5’s!

Crikey, I also forgot about THIS one. Hmm…would I buy it…not something Id normally buy or myself, I’m more into characters or abstract cartoon characters, I really like that. So this would be a new shirt experience for me. No, I don’t think I’d buy it, but if someone gave it to me as a present I’d probably wear it a lot. Dig it. Looks like the grey plates printers use to print on the old-school equipment. When I went into a print shop I saw these grey plates that were lying there, with an invoice document in dark grey lines printed in reverse, they held the ink or something. Whatever, I’m gonna give you a 5, your mock-up of the design on the real shirt is what sold me. Or it may be because the title reminds me of a song in Anchorman…so no, I wouldn’t buy this shirt, but I’m giving you a 5 because it has some appeal to me and I wouldn’t mind at all if it was a gift, and it’d make me look all emo and sensitive with doves on my body.

You know what irritates me? That zoo biscuits nowadays only have some indeterminate white blob of icing on them. Sure, the animals back then could be pretty indeterminate themselves, but at least they made the effort. Gone are the days of endless hours peering at the icing, debating whether it is or is not a lion, then promptly biting off its head and laughing hysterically. I think the world would be a better place if zoo biscuits once more had animals on them. change is coming.

Had zoo biscuits this weekend…they’ve brought the pictures back!! ..and I think they’re even clearer than before — no guessing: duck, dolphin — and seriously clearly defined springbokkies! They are still made in SA but have Russian and French and Chinese writing on the packaging now - I guess people in other countries were going ‘huh?!’ so they had to sort them to look like something :)

Tu - I dont see the ALF at all lol, but then, I probably need to remove myself from a the design a bit if that makes any sense. The basic idea was of the rabbit getting scared by whatever it is that is biting the biscuit. Obviously though, the concept needs some work, so hopefully in the redesign it comes across better :)
