ChatRoulette- Too funny! shoutOut on 5/8/10 by Danya in peeps | on 18/8/11 by DuncanBoxie | 2

ChatRoulette is a somewhat controversial social media site. It has made headlines across the world since its launch and has gained a huge user base. The platform is a basic instant messaging plus video service and allows anyone to randomly find a user by simply clicking a ‘next’ button. The reason it has been termed ChatRoulette becomes quite evident when using the service – you never know who or what will appear on your screen. I’ve tried ChatRoulette a few times in the past few months and have learned to keep the cursor on the ‘next’ button, since it is vital to hit that button as fast as you can, especially since some people misuse the service to show-off some pretty profane graphic behaviour. Unfortunately the success rate of finding someone interesting to chat to is pretty low – so I gave up… Then I stumbled across a very interesting and funny viral video on YouTube. A freestyle piano player / singer known as Merton recorded his encounters whilst improvising lyrics that directly related Your host, Merton, freestyling in real-time with random strangers on Chat Roulette. Funny improv #1: Now if you’ve ever tried this service you’ll know that if someone odd looking is on the screen you automatically hit ‘next’ to try find someone semi-sane looking. But Merton engages with his chat partner immediately and grabs their attention by singing about them. They are intrigued and listen and interact…some of their reactions are priceless. Funny improv #2: Merton even performed his ChatRoulette stunt with a live audience – and it is just too funny how some random guy sitting who-knows-where in the world is surprised and baffled by some stranger and a 2000 head audience singing to him, sheer brilliance! And some faceless man named Bobby had 2000 people chanting his name – before he revealed himself! Watch out for the guy on the loo! Ciao springleapers!!

Hey there Springleapers! We here at Springleap are always on the lookout for interesting things to challenge those design minds of yours. Today we have some cool tips ‘n things to share with you to get those creative juices flowing… Here goes! Photographs are excellent tools to show you how something looks. Tracing photos to create artistic pieces however doesn’t teach you much about shape, volume, lighting, and colour. Here is an alternative way to create abstract artistic pieces using a photo merely as inspiration. We will start by choosing and simplifying its components and then proceed to apply a retro-futuristic look. Here’s a heads up for you- a bit of insider info… This tutuorial will definitely help you for our upcoming theme ****hint hint!! Secondly, Duncan has found something really cool for us to all sink our teeth into. Here are sme beautiful examples of transparent screen trick photos from Smashing Magazine Here’s a quick tip for today: Apply a Vintage Effect to Several Images Using Actions Have you ever wanted to apply the same effect to several images at once? This is an issue that most designers face at some point in their career. In some situations, you might be able to apply an effect individually one photo at a time. That takes time however, and if you have dozens or even hundreds of images to process, that is simply not possible. The solution is to create an action and apply it using a batch process. In today’s quick tip tutorial we will demonstrate how to create an action and apply it to several images using Photoshop’s batch process function. So follow the link and get cracking! Enjoy! Cheers all Have a great Wednesday Danya |

How to Rock your Favourite Springleap.com Tees shoutOut on 11/8/10 by Lexi87 in peeps | on 18/8/11 by Lexi87 | 6

From a lazy day on your couch to the dance floor of a happening club, the t-shirt fits right in! T-shirt fans, such as myself, know that having a few good tees in your closet is a MUST! And if you’re going to have lots of them, why not get them from Springleap.com ;) The t-shirt doesn’t have to be limited to jeans and sneakers. Here are a few ways I like to spice things up with my Springleap.com designs. Check it out: #1: Dress it up! Throw a rocking blazer or leather jacket over your favourite Springleap.com t-shirt. Pull on sexy leggings and killer heels and you’re ready for a wild night out! Remember, if the focus of your outfit is the t-shirt, keep the other items looking simple and classic. #2: Casually cool Great fitting jeans – skinny, bootleg, flared or cuffed – is perfect for setting off an awesome t-shirt design. Throw on cute pair of boat shoes or pumps and you’ve got the laid-back look going on. #3: Flirty-skirty Go retro by tucking your t-shirt into a high-waisted skirt. A pair of cute peep-toes will complete the flirty look or if you want to keep it informal, slip on some comfortable pumps. A long maxi skirt and sandals is another option if you’re not a fan of high-waisted skirts. #4: Super-size me If you have an oversized t-shirt in your closet – don’t throw it away! Here’s how you can breathe life into it. Wear a funky belt to cinch the t-shirt at your waist, step into a cute pair of ankle boots and you’re ready to walk out the door looking fabulous! For those of you that don’t like showing some leg, cover them with fun leggings or plain black for a more slimming effect. And there you have it :) Just a few ways I like to rock out in my Springleap.com tees! I’d love to hear how you strut your stuff in a tee or even better send a pic or two! Much love
