Here at Springleap.com we LOVE screenprinting .

Well, considering that many of our awesome designs are created using this process there is no surprise!

The act screen printing has been around for many years. It was first used by the Chinese around the time of Song Dynasty, which began in 960AD .
Samuel Simon was the first person to patent the process back in 1907 .
So yeah, this is a process that has brought colorful joy and wonder to our lives for quite some time.

Even in our modern era things have not changed much (in theory), well, except for the types of screens becoming synthetic instead of the original silk style and the inks/paints becoming more refined.

I’m not going to ramble on about the screen printing process, in fact I should get Chloe our production manager to write a blog for us…she is super clued up .

Today I wanted to mention a young student from the Durban BTECH who blew me away with his MacGyver like screen printing skills which he does from what looks like his flat. Dustin Holmes is undoubtedly a designer to keep your eyes on!

When a designer has such a slick illustration power and the drive to get the job done, you can be sure of big things . Very impressed!

The documentary style video was shot by Greg Davies , who also did a great job of showing Dustins ‘good side’ :)

With the theme being Entrepreneurship I decided to focus my design on highlighting the valour of any individual willing to break away from the pack.

Every person is offered the same opportunities; it’s what you do with those opportunities that determine your future.
