Hi there Springleapers,

Here is some awesome news for all of you who like to post lots of comments and get involved by writing blog articles!

We have just implemented a totally new commenting system.
Behold our ‘RICH TEXT EDITOR’....I’m in love, hehehe!

Admittedly the old Springleap commenting system was a tad ‘basic’ for many members liking.

While you could insert links and images, it was all done through code, which can be a bit of a pain in the rear, especially if you don’t have the time to mess about.

Well, feel the pain no more my friends!

Basically the Rich Text Editor gives you the ability to create visually impressive postings in half (actually less) the time it normally would with our old commenting system.

Here are some of the features:

1. IMAGE PASTE BOX
2. TEXT ALIGNMENT
3. NUMBERED LISTS
4. BULLETED LISTS
5. BLOCK QUOTES
6. LINK BUTTON
7. TEXT DIRECTION
8. SPELL CHECK

How awesome is that!
I am so totally stoked to see everybody trying out this new feature.

Remember we are a community here! Whether you would like to promote your design by writing and interesting blog about your submission, or perhaps on your past work and specific technique, anything goes.

This is the perfect opportunity to ask the community questions. There are literally thousands of designers on our platform. If you need help with a design, or would like a good ol’ fashion critique, this is the place to do it!

I have to send out a big THANK YOU from the Springleap team to our ‘Magic Man’ developer Ian, who not only implemented the new Rich Text Editor, but also fixed loads of bugs and updated our website to all new levels of awesomeness. You rock dude!

Make a difference with Positive Heroes!

As many of you would already know Springleap has teamed up with Positive Heroes to create a design campaign that will help shake-off the stigma of this dreaded disease and see it defeated once and for all in our generation.

Living in South Africa we are exposed to the horrors of HIV/AIDS on a daily basis and there are very few of us who don’t know, or are connected to somebody who is suffering from the disease or knows somebody who is infected.

Being educated on the subject is undoubtedly one of the biggest hurdles we face.
It seems that there is so much conflicting information, as well as here-say and superstition surrounding it, which makes it difficult for people to know where they can turn, or who they can trust!

To put it into perspective a study in 2007 reported that an estimated 5,700,000 South Africans were said to have HIV/AIDS...that like 12% of the population. Can you imagine what that stat stands at now!
This is a seriously colossal number...frightening indeed.

About the only good news is that the prevalence of this disease has dropped in respect to our teenage demographic. Hopefully this means that awesome groups such as Positive Heroes are beginning to make some headway. Three cheers to them, we need more people like this making a difference, not only here, but across the entire planet.

We need to educate our youth, if we can “nip it in the bud” so to speak, it will go a long way.

Prevention is cure! Get tested! Know your status! Educate everyone around you!

That is why we ask our entire community to get involved and help Positive Heroes spread their message of COURAGE and inspire hope to those who have lost theirs.
